DS Download Station

June 28, 2006

For the first time ever, I used a DS Download Station.  I had to go to Best Buy anyways, so I decided to bring my DS along as well.  Right when I got in I selected Download Play on my DS’s touch screen, and within seconds the Download Station was found.  I selected it, and a menu of downloadable content came up.  I’ve really been looking forward to getting to play Brain Age, so I chose it.  It took about half a minute to download.  After I left, I realized it took longer to check out than it did to download a game. Pass the Salt

June 28, 2006

Nintendo certainly has a collection of strong franchises under its care. The Legend of Zelda and Metroid series are some of the most revered to date. Mario has always had large appeal (but won’t stop showing up in ridiculous spin-offs). A slightly lesser known — but still popular — series is Star Fox.

Minish Cap Review

June 28, 2006

With Capcom’s reputation and the word “exclusive” being batted around so freely, you would think relations between the company and Nintendo would be a little shaken. Fire Emblem 7 Review

June 28, 2006

Let’s Support the Little Guy, Chibi Robo!

June 28, 2006

Let’s face it, the Gamecube is good as dead. Twilight Princess might as well be a Wii exclusive, and Over the Hedge isn’t going to replace its absence here and now. So it would seem that Chibi-Robo is a pick-up by default. Then again, it’s difficult to take anything seriously that has “chibi” in it. But don’t let the cutesy name fool you. Inside is an experience you’ll not find anywhere else.

Battallion Wars, Its Not So Advance Wars!

June 28, 2006

Nintendo struck gold with its Advance Wars series. The orginal Advance Wars is my favorite handheld game, after all, and that’s no easy task to accomplish considering I had a dislike towards all things turn-based after playing too many Final Fantasies. But for as fun and rewarding as Advance Wars is, turn-based games just don’t have the same level of engagement and intensity offered in real-time. Battalion Wars attempts to bring the complexity of Advance Wars into that dimension, but along the way, something went terribly wrong.
