RE Wii News

September 2, 2006

This is taken from the official site of one of the voice actresses for RE Wii:

“Voice actress Tara Platt is to do Jill Valentine in the upcoming RE:Wii game. She confirmed to us that the game will feature zombies (or at the least, zombie-like enemies) and plant creatures, as well as a wide array of weaponry. The fact that Ms. Platt was aware of the weapons in the game infers that she is voicing a playable character and is not just doing a cameo. Jill being the main character increases the likelihood of seeing Carlos or Barry turn up as well.”

Twilight Princess Controls Changed

August 21, 2006

Straight from one of Japan’s official Nintendo magazines, titled “Nintendo Dream”, Miyamoto spills some details on the highly anticipated dual-system game, Twilight Princess. Apparently, the controls for the Wii version have been changed drastically since E3. At E3 2006, the player used “B” to swing the sword, and the D-Pad to use arrows. Now, the controller will be swung to swing the sword likewise, and the B button will be used to fire arrows.

Seems like great news indeed, as this was the control mechanic many anticipated if TP reared its head on the Wii.

Call of Duty 3 Postponed

August 19, 2006

Yes as sad as it is Call of Duty3 for the Wii has been postponed until 2007. This will be a tragic fall in the world. Well not really, this could mean that they are making the game better.

Here is the article.

Thanks to GCcafe.com for the video. The graphics look better than I thought in this game, and since this is still early in development, I suddenly have high hopes for Wii’s graphical capability!

IGN Reports Bad/Good News

August 12, 2006

Here’s the roundup from IGN’s weekly podcast, titled “Wii-k In Review”…

Metroid Prime 3 may not make Wii launch, due to either time constraints, or a marketing decision.

Super Paper Mario may not be heading to the Cube anymore. According to Matt Casamassina, we will be seeing SPM pop up on the Wii.

At the upcoming LGC, we will see games from the 360 and PS3 that are being adapted for the Wii.

THQ has 6-8 Wii games in the works.

Dragon Quest will not be heading to the Wii during launch, but Excite Truck has been confirmed as a launch title.

LucasArts is indeed working on a light saber game for the Wii…according to IGN.

Seems to me like a mix of good and bad news… I am specifically disappointed because of Metroid Prime 3’s “seeming” delay, and Dragon Quest.  What makes me happy is the lightsaber game and Super Paper Mario’s Wii appearance, although I’m sad that the GCN isn’t gettin’ anymore love… Oh well, you win some, ya lose some; right?!

Wii on November 12th?

August 10, 2006

An Nsider, Huelen10, was at EA Tiburon earlier today, since his friend works there. While there, he happened to catch a galnce of a board with Q4 releases. He claims Madden 2007 for Wii, which is a confirmed launch title, will release on November 12th for $54.99. Remember, TBT’s site is the first one with this info!

Note: It was a tentative schedule, and there is no proof other than his word that it is true.

BREAKING NEWS – Harvest Moon Wii!

August 9, 2006

We have first details and first scans here of Harvest Moon Wii, straight from Famitsu. The details are as follows –

Controls- Chores are performed by doing realistic motions with the Wiimote. For example, to water plants, you need to tilt the controller downwards. Left and right on the d-pad cycle through tools, down on the d-pad disables them, and the A seems to be the main button used to talk, enter houses, etc.

Story- The game takes place on an island with a goddess and a tree. One day, the goddess and the tree disappear. The Koropokuru ask you to build a farm and make relationships in order to bring the goddess and the tree back.

The game has no final release date as of right now. (Thanks to Kinopio for the summary!)

And here are the scans of the game…
