Bandai Namco has announced a 10/26 Japanese release date for this first DS Tales game. The Tales series is popular in America and Japan likewise, and will most likely sell extremely well. Bandai Namco has done a smart thing and is giving ample time for Final Fantasy III to sell (which comes out before that date), instead of overlapping two huge RPGs.
